Description
Ancient 18th century villa in a dominant position on the Chianti hills, it is situated on a hillock above the ancient village of Staggia Senese.
Recently subjected to a careful renovation and restoration, which has enhanced the elegance typical of the ancient Tuscan villas while maintaining the original eighteenth-century structure, Villa Vianci presents itself today as the ideal place to enjoy a pleasant and exclusive stay under the sun of Tuscany, and to visit the most important art cities in the area.
Its position in the center of Tuscany, a few km from the highway Florence-Siena, make Villa Vianci the ideal place from which to undertake cultural, historical-artistic and enogastronomic itineraries in the many typical local realities. The villa is surrounded by a completely fenced park. A large space on the promenade houses a green gazebo suitable for outdoor lunches and dinners. On the sides of the villa is an elegant terrace of lemon trees and a romantic grove of cedars and oaks. In a secluded spot on the back, surrounded by cypresses and olive trees, there is a swimming pool surrounded by a large lawn.

User experiences
The Villa was a short drive from Staggia, ideally located between Florence and Sienna. This location was perfect for making day trips, and there were things to see and do, in all directions. We traveled with five (5) couples and the Villa was large enough that we never felt cramped. We spent several wonderful nights sitting around the pool drinking wine. If you are wondering whether or not you need a GPS for the trip; you do. Although some of the roads are well marked; most are not. We were lost several times. It was nice to come back to the Villa and relax each night. There are several places to eat in town, but we especially enjoyed the meal at the Villa prepared on site by the owners
The photos promised a beautiful Villa and it was even better in person. Spacious living areas combined with private sleeping quarters provided the perfect accommodation for our group of ten friends. The on-site Managers, Tommaso and Chiara, were so friendly, and helpful in pre-stocking the kitchen, recommending restaurants and walking trails, and providing two amazing four course dinners. We would highly recommend Villa Vianci for a holiday in Tuscany. The Villa is within walking distance to the train station in Castellina Scalo, and to the grocery store and restaurants in the town of Staggia Senese.
We cannot imagine a better villa from which to explore the delights of Tuscany. Our hosts were welcoming and simply lovely people. The villa was large, perfectly and lovingly appointed, bright and comfortable for the ten of us. We ate and drank well both at the villa and in nearby Staggia (Roberto at Nostrano was awesome!), and walked all over the area even as far as Monterrigioni. Tommaso provided us excellent taxi contacts to get to the train at Poggibonsi to go to Florence, and helped us out with food shopping and even picked us some fresh basil from their garden. Our advice? Pick Villa Vianci!
Our stay started with an extremely easy helpful booking relationship with Tomasso. The relationship continued through several months during which we asked repeated questions about sights, dining, etc. Tomasso's answers were always helpful and prompt. There were 10 of us...grandparents, two sons and their families. We decided to eat dinner at the villa every night since the menus looked terrific and with ten people it was so much more convenient than ten of us agreeing on a restaurant AND finding a restaurant that had room when we wanted to eat every night. That was so much the right decision. And the meals were wonderful, prepared every night by Chiara, Tomasso's lovely wife and served by Tomasso. Three courses (referred to as a light dinner...a serious misrepresentation) for all but one night. That night was my granddaughter's birthday so we had four courses that night. Each night with the Villa's own wine and olive oil. It would be impossible to overstate how much we enjoyed the wonderful dinners, the food, the setting at a wonderful large table in a big dining room on the third floor filled with family laughter and conversation.
The bedrooms were quite large and luxurious (except for the one room with two twins that was more than fine just smaller). All but one bedroom were conveniently on the second floor, all opening into the very large second floor sitting room where we ended each evening talking and reading. The other bedroom was a big one on the first floor next to another large seating area.
The kitchen had everything one might need although the only meal we took there was breakfast. It was located next to another huge dining room with seating I think for twelve. The swimming pool was wonderful, enjoyed every day by my four grandchildren especially. The washer/dryer was very convenient. The grounds too were very beautiful.
And then the location was terrific. We spent one day visiting both Lucca and Pisa; another in Florence; still another in Siena and Montalpulciano. The Villa itself is a five minute drive from a little medieval town called Monteriggioni where we all went more than once.
Finally I want to underline how wonderfully helpful and nice Tomasso is. To underline our enthusiasm, I have already begun to assemble a group of 10 friends to return in 2020. We would have returned in 2019, but one of the couples we really want to go cannot until the following year.
